CNN host Abby Phillip entertains many points of views on her “NewsNight” show, but a guest on Monday pushed her to the limit. (Watch the video below.)
Democratic pundit Karen Finney said to take the president at his word even if he keeps framing the possibility as the idea of others. His disrespect for the Constitution and rule of law is that blatant, she said.
Then Ashley Hayek of the Trump-supporting America First Works uttered a literal show-stopper: “He would be elected four times but only serving [a] third [term] since the 2021 [election] was stolen.”
She regurgitated 2020 election rubbish as if she were declaring the world round instead of spewing the lie that led to an insurrection. That fired up Phillip into a shutdown response after she quieted an objection from another panelist.
“We are not doing that, OK?” Phillip admonished. “In answer to your question, we’re not doing it. Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. You don’t actually have to say the words out of your mouth, but I’m gonna say them. But continue.”
A chastised Hayek said: “Well, if the election were held today, and this is why the left is so worked up about it, is because Donald Trump would win again. If there were an election held today, he had this approval that we just talked about is so high, he would win again.”
