Karoline Leavitt Is Asked Outright: ‘Does White House Have A Social Media Problem?’

The Trump administration’s posting — and subsequent deletion — of two controversial social media messages in recent days prompted an uncomfortable question for White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt during Tuesday’s briefing.

A reporter asked Leavitt about a racist video shared by President Donald Trump and a separate post by Vice President JD Vance. Both were later taken down.

Watch from the 15:30 point here:

Vance’s deleted post, made during a trip to Armenia, appeared to recognize the Armenian genocide. But that position is at odds with the Trump administration’s official line.

Both posts were initially blamed on staffers. Trump later said he had approved the post about the Obamas before it was published, though he claimed he had not seen the highly offensive moment.

“Does the White House have a social media problem at the moment?” the journalist asked Leavitt, adding: “Do you have an autoposting problem that’s leading to these mistakes?”

    “No,” Leavitt replied.

The press secretary did not address Trump’s post about the Obamas.

“As for the Armenian tweet that you’re referring to,” she said. “I would just refer you back to the White House’s message that was issued on Armenian Remembrance Day. And there’s been no change of policy at this time.”
