Home to several impressive hotels and resorts, Las Vegas is not short on glamour and luxury offerings. From world-class dining and shopping to a playground of exciting gambling and first-rate entertainment with legendary headliners, guests can enjoy a wide variety of hospitality. Underneath sparkling chandeliers, in between imaginative dining options, and soaring over the Vegas skyline, Fontainebleau Las Vegas is a destination I’ll be coming back to again and again.

Pulling up to the hotel, guests are enveloped in instant extravagance. Floral displays can be found at almost every entrance, and the check in lobby makes you stop and stare. A fun game to play on property is to seek out the signature bowtie design, hidden cleverly in everything from chandeliers to wallpaper patterns, lighting fixtures, carpets and more. Even some of the croissants found in the cafes incorporate the bowtie motif. With over 150,000 sf of casino action, the fun doesn’t stop on the gaming floor. A poolside casino sits adjacent to the sprawling pool area and hidden gems can be found throughout the property. BleauLive Theater welcomes touring acts from across the globe, decidedly different than residencies, in the 3,800 person theater.

    Art

    Courtesy of Fontainebleau Las Vegas

The art collection at Fontainebleau is staggering and worth experiencing in and of itself. My favorite piece, Oceans by artist BREAKFAST, is a kinetic marble and stainless-steel sculpture which emulates the dynamism of the world’s oceans. Informed by real-time oceanographic data from over a hundred coastal cities globally, this impactful piece will have you mesmerized as the gold and white “brixels” surge, pirouette and flow blurring the lines of technology, art and the environment. Another show-stopping piece is Urs Fisher’s Lover #3, a cast aluminum, stainless-steel and gold leaf sculpture that towers over visitors in a swirling metallic dance of its own.

3,644 guest rooms make up the Fontainebleau Las Vegas, and the attention to detail is not missed in any of them. From chic artwork and finishes to sprawling views of the strip and mountains beyond, I enjoyed the automated touches of closing curtains (to keep your room cool), signature bath products and plush furnishings that made me feel not only comfortable but cared for. Luxury suites and Fleur de Lis collection are the ultimate accommodation, affording guests unique features such as a pool table or grand piano.

    Dining

    KYU Las Vegas

I highly suggest you come with a healthy appetite and plenty of time to explore all the culinary opportunities at the resort. Running the gambit of luxury fine dining to grab-and-go casual, there is something for every taste and tier of diner. The Signature Dining experiences I partook in were fantastic, starting with KYU Las Vegas: inspired by global travel, the Asian-centric menu offers guests lunch and dinner options. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a lunchtime nosh, complete with tableside flambéed bone marrow Wagyu tartare (with Parker House rolls), Hamachi crispy rice, and pork gyoza. All were delicious but the show of the tartare was especially exhilarating. Make sure to try the signature cocktails with names like Always Money in the Banana Stand, Judo Chop or Sakura Season. Friendly and knowledgeable staff will guide you through an excellent dining experience, all while soaking in the unique architecture of high ceilings, a lush green wall, over-the-top floral arrangements and artful golden chandeliers.

Don’s Prime is a steakhouse that those who enjoy old-school service must patronize. The sumptuous red velvet walls of the back dining room counterpart the red velvet jackets of the waitstaff, all of whom meticulously serve guests course after course of chilled seafood, prime meats, and delectable sides. For a special treat, order a featured cocktail from the Spirit Trolley; a tableside cocktail experience you won’t soon forget.

    Mother Wolf

For a drink after dinner, we tried Mother Wolf, a Roman-inspired restaurant that is deceptively large once you enter through an unassuming entry. The cocktails were fantastic, the bartenders wonderful; the Chef Evan Funke’s Romulus and Remus inspired Roman restaurant will be one I’m sure to return to next time I’m in Vegas.

    La Fontaine

For breakfast, we dined at La Fontaine, where the Everything Croissant sandwich was a showstopper at our table; croissant dough, smoked salmon, capers, red onion, whipped horseradish and ricotta all perfectly balanced in a picturesque round croissant sliced in half. With pastel décor described as old-world opulence, I felt as though I was on a movie set or that a Hollywood A-lister would at any time arrive at the table next to us.

Additional Signature Dining experiences abound from Komodo to high-octane Papi Steak. 12-seat omakase style ITO, Chyna Club and soon-to-be-open Cantina Contramar are all locations my mouth is watering over as a return trip. Casual dining can be found across the property as well, with outlets such as The Tavern (the nachos were especially good while soaking in the sportsbook style location.) The Promenade has a plethora of options as well. Far from a food court, the quick serve options were still elevated and dining area bright and cheerful. Self-explanatory Capon’s Burgers, El Bagel, Miami Slice, and Roadside Taco are all a perfect option for a quick bite. A favorite of mine was Break for breakfast grab and go.

    Bars and Lounges

Nowhere is not to be missed while on property. With pastries and coffee service available in the morning, to midday lounging, to cocktail service in the evening, this tailored lounge area of Nowhere is a fanciful getaway within the hotel. Sumptuous fabrics and décor frame up the space perfectly, while we sip on cocktails and listen to the band warm up for an evening of crooning.

    Courtesy of Fontainebleau Las Vegas

Bleau Bar is at the heart of the casino floor, not to be missed with a dazzling chandelier overhead. Look up to see the delicate golden bowties included in the design while taking in the hustle and bustle of the casino. Various cocktail bars and lounges all have unique offerings, including specialty tequila and mezcal at Azul Tequila & Mezcal Lounge, top-shelf mixology at Solo Club, the serenity of Collins, and your favorite cocktail served up at Après in Promenade. Poodle Room is an exclusive members only social club, where floor to ceiling windows offer commanding views from the top floor.

    Spa

    Courtesy of Fontainebleau Las Vegas

Lapis Spa and Wellness is a tranquil retreat within the resort, focusing on the energy of water and healing powers of enjoying a soothing day at the spa. Impressive facilities accompany the locker rooms with large soaking tubs in both hot and warm, steam showers, and infrared saunas. Or count the constellations in a starlit relaxation lounge and quiet area before your treatment. The real magic though: the communal area. Soaring ceilings with color changing panels bathe the specialty soaking areas, while guests enjoy the latest cutting-edge technology in an Aufguss Sauna (a large communal sauna with a screen depicting various landscapes. Inspired by Nordic spas, the Aufguss Sauna has daily “shows” that incorporate aromatherapy, towel choreography, and digital imagery for an unforgettable and unique experience. Outside the immersive sauna, to cool off head to the indoor snow shower. More novelty than therapeutic, I did enjoy the cooling sensation as snow/ice drifted down from the ceiling in the room. A full-service fitness facility is also available on property.

    Pool and LIV

The pools and terraces surrounding them are excellently planned at Fontainebleau Las Vegas. From the eye-catching architecture, to the fact that you don’t feel overcrowded or stuffed onto a pool deck, the atmosphere continues the luxurious ambiance found within the resort outdoors. La Côte is an excellent spot to enjoy lunch, while an outdoor casino is a perfect spot to take in the fresh air while still enjoying a winning streak. Bleau Isle caters to guests’ cocktail orders and FB Slims is a tucked away bar harkening back to the 1950s era, complete with booze cart. For a private spot, head to Gigi’s, where you can enjoy smaller and more private pool and cabanas, Moroccan-style mint tea service and special events. The Legacy Pool also offers an intimate, quieter experience adjacent to the main pool area.

LIV Beach is also open on the weekends and hosts premier DJs for an upbeat French Riviera-like atmosphere where the cocktails flow and the music will move you. To keep the party going, visit LIV (sister to the Miami club) for a high-energy experience. JustLuxe insider tip: for an ultra-VIP experience, book a skybox with premium signature table service, or book out the entire club for a private party you’ll never forget.

    Shopping

    BleauLive

Shop until you drop at Fontainebleau Las Vegas with high-end retailers such as Missoni and Giuseppe Zannoti. For a sweet treat, stop by Cocoa Dolce, whose chocolates are almost too beautiful to eat. Unique gifts, sundries and even artwork can be found at the FB Express and if looking for something exceptional (and sparkly!) head to Ora, where Judith Leiber creations dazzle in the window and extravagant accessories and fragrances beckon customers to enter.

    Convention Center

Not only is Fontainebleau Las Vegas an exceptional destination for leisure travelers, business travel is a major component of the resort. The Conference Center is a hub for important meetings, while steps away from all Fontainebleau Las Vegas has to offer. Group dinners, activities and experiences all seamlessly flow from business to pleasure for corporate travel to innovate what the destination meeting looks like.

I was thrilled to visit Fontainebleau Las Vegas. Typically, when visiting the city I bounce from resort to resort, trying new restaurants, checking out new shows, or visiting unique spas. I didn’t leave the grounds of Fontainebleau Las Vegas on this trip—there was that much to do and I look forward to returning as I didn’t even experience it all. From the moment we arrived at the airport and were picked up by our cheerful driver, to the moment we were dropped off by the same in-house car service, the experience was outstanding. This resort is a must while visiting Vegas, from the fine dining and delightful rooms to the stupendous service of staff who always had a smile on their face, whether asking for change at the front desk or requesting directions within the resort, I was impressed as an experienced traveler.
