The Best Heated Mask For Dry Eyes

Many of us are dry eye sufferers. But not everyone is doomed to live with red-eyed irritation forever. We recently discovered that a heated eye mask can help moisten those eyeballs and prevent them from drying out during the day.

Per Dr. Anat Galor, a Florida-based ophthalmologist and clinical spokesperson for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, previously told HuffPost, abnormalities of the Meibomian glands — the glands in eyelids that produce the oil component of tears — can contribute to dry eye symptoms. “One treatment that is used to improve Meibomian gland health is to apply heat to the glands to help the release of oil onto the surface of the eye,” says Galor.

This soft eye mask can relieve eye fatigue, dryness and sinuses with a low heat temperature (104℉ to 114℉) and gently massages your eye sockets with air compression. Its auto-off feature turns it off after 20 minutes of use, so you can set it over your eyes at bedtime and swipe it off when it’s over. Reviewers say it charges quickly via USB, plus it’s super comfy to wear. To operate it, you just tap a few of its side buttons and you’re good to go.

“This product has become a daily thing for me” explains one reviewer. “If you have tension headaches or dry eyes, use this for a couple [of] days and watch it cure you. I look forward to using this every night. I have discontinued my eye drops because I don’t need them anymore and have cut way down on headache meds!”

“This product has become a daily thing for me! If you have tension headaches or dry eyes, use this for a couple days and watch it cure you! I look forward to using this every night! I have discontinued my eye drops because I don’t need them anymore and have cut way down on headache meds! It is incredibly durable and portable! I love that it folds in half to become more compact when not in use. I charge the battery every few uses so it has good battery life. The air compression makes noise but I just turn on the calming music to max and it drowns it all out! It is just too easy to use, put it on, turn it on and relax! By the end of the session I’m normally almost asleep! It does tell you when the session ends and that startles me sometimes because I’ve drifted off lol” — Jacquelyn Schack

“I bought this for my wife for Christmas, but after two migraines this week, decided to give it to her early. Her immediate response was ‘This may be the best gift I’ve ever gotten!’. She made me use it before bed last night, and I really was impressed at how relaxed I was after. The heat is just the right amount, and the compression feels incredible. I’ll be getting more of these.” — Justin Davis

“The RENPHO Eye Massager is the best impulse purchase I’ve ever made, and I’m saying this as someone who once bought a chia pet at 2 a.m. DAMN THE HSA—I would’ve bought this magical eye hugger even if it wasn’t eligible. Who needs a tax break when you have Bluetooth heat-induced bliss strapped to your face? Picture this: me, lying on the couch, Bluetooth serenading me with smooth jazz, and my eyes getting a spa treatment so good they might start charging me rent. It’s like tiny masseuses are gently punching my stress away, all while my to-do list silently judges me from across the room. Eye strain? Gone. Stress? Melted. Will I ever take it off? Doubtful. Buy it for Christmas, birthdays, or just because life is too short not to experience this level of relaxation. Forget the HSA rules—your eyes deserve this masterpiece of modern comfort.” — K.Good

“dont waste your money going for dry eye treatment at the eye doctor. Insurance doesnt cover dry eye. i spent $700 on a treatment and later that night my eyes were tearing again. I decided to try this because i was out of ideas, it immediatly was not only soothing but my dry eye is alot better … amazingly better and its only been a week.Battery life is decent, heat level perfect, massage very relaxing. i never write reviews but had to on this product.” — Kathleen Brave

“Bought it for my husband who had eye problem. Been using it for other purpose too, ie relaxing, tired eyes, etc. the air pressure gently massage the eyes without being too hard. Comes with some options/combination of air pressure, vibration and heat. Very quiet. It works better than our old microwaveable beads eyes as this generate consistent heat from start to finish without getting burn. The price is a bit on the expensive side, but we are using it. So..” — HUY
