Scott Jennings’ Plea To Give Trump ‘Peace’ Gets A Mic-Drop Reply On CNN

GOP pundit Scott Jennings urged Democrats to give President-elect Donald Trump “peace” to govern for a few years so he can fulfill his promises. But that got quickly shut down by another CNN personality. (Watch the video below.)

In a panel on the news network Wednesday, Jennings called the former president’s election victory a “mandate” that could be obstructed by Democratic attempts to undermine him. The same thing happened in 2016, he said.

Jennings, who worked in ex-President George W. Bush’s administration, noted a statement on Wednesday from Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) saying that “the next Congress will be less about pursuing progress than about containing the inevitable corruption of a second Trump administration.”

“The American people want this president and his administration and his party to make progress on the things they promised to do,” Jennings said. “Can we just have a couple of years of peace for the Republicans and President Trump to do what they promised to do?”

Snapped Ana Navarro: “That’s really rich, though, from a party and from Trump who for four years never even acknowledged that Joe Biden had won the election.”

Navarro, a Republican strategist, wasn’t the only personality to clap back at his comments.

In an exchange Jennings shared on X, former Obama adviser Ashley Allison said: “Please do not sit here and say that Republicans, when Democrats are elected, just roll over.”

“You will again pay a price in election after election,” Jennings replied.

Fast-forward to 1:03 for that exchange:

The last time Trump won, Dems never gave him a chance to really govern. With this new 2024 mandate, Trump deserves a couple of years of peace to deliver on the priorities of the American people. My latest on @cnn. pic.twitter.com/HpCZoIWWLX
