Comedian Nimesh Patel doesn’t shy away from America’s political climate in his forthcoming Netflix special, cheekily predicting “there will be no more Indian directors of the FBI” once the incumbent, Kash Patel, departs.
Netflix on Thursday unveiled a short teaser for “Nimesh Patel: Buy the Dip.” In it, Nimesh Patel jokes that Kash Patel is “too short to lead the FBI,” before adding: “You can’t be 5’7” and in charge of finding missing people. How about you find the rest of yourself first, huh? … Up next on Kash’s most wanted: legs.”
Elsewhere in the clip, Nimesh Patel suggests Kash Patel’s reputation could impact Indian directors of any kind.
“M. Night Shyamalan may never work again,” he quips, referring to the filmmaker behind “The Sixth Sense” and other blockbusters. “That’s how bad Kash has fucked up.”
While viewers will have to wait until Sept. 22 to catch the rest of “Buy the Dip” when it premieres on Netflix, Variety suggests the comedian will also take aim at other aspects of President Donald Trump’s administration.

According to the outlet, Nimesh Patel zings “absurdity of parenting, the insanity of his Indian family and the rampant corruption in D.C.”
In recent months, Kash Patel has faced a barrage of scrutiny over his alleged use of taxpayer money for private jets and other travel perks. A bombshell report published by The Atlantic in April also claimed the FBI director was prone to “excessive drinking and unexplained absences” on the job.
Kash Patel responded to the article by filing a $250 million lawsuit against the outlet, alleging defamation.
A New Jersey native, Nimesh Patel rose to prominence in 2017, when he became the first Indian American writer on “Saturday Night Live.” That same year, he wrote material for Hasan Minhaj’s White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner appearance.
He poked fun at Kash Patel ― and their shared surname ― in an appearance on “The Daily Show” last year, noting that the FBI director is “out for revenge” after having grown up “in racist-ass Long Island with the name Kashyap Pramod Vinod Patel.”
“I’m not a fan of the guy’s politics,” he added, “but if I get pulled over, that is my cousin for sure.”
