On Tuesday, the president admitted that he’s not concerned with how his unpopular war with Iran is affecting the everyday lives of Americans, saying, “I don’t think about Americans’ financial situation. I don’t think about anybody.”
But while some people thought Trump’s couldn’t-care-less comment was a perfect midterm ad for the Democrats, Johnson stuck his metaphorical head in the sand and claimed he was unaware of it when asked about it on Wednesday.
“I don’t know the context in which he made that comment, but I can tell you the president thinks about Americans’ financial situations,” Johnson said. “I talk to him, on average, twice a day, sometimes three or four times a day, and we talk about it constantly.”
In fact, both CNN and “The Daily Show” have each done supercuts mocking Johnson’s calculated cluelessness over things Trump has said or did.
He faced similar ridicule on social media.
