Megyn Kelly Has A New Nickname For ‘Crying’ CBS Anchor And It’s… Pretty Out There

Honestly, “Bari’s Bitch” was right there, Megyn.

On Wednesday’s episode of her podcast, Megyn Kelly decided to give the new anchor of “CBS Evening News”, Tony Dokoupil, a nickname, and it’s… uh, Dokou-poor (sorry!).

“T’Oprah’ Dokoupil, that’s what I call him, because he’s crying and constantly trying to therapize us through the news,” Kelly said, presumably linking him to the former talk show host due to her history of tearing up on camera.

Last week, Kelly dunked on Dokoupil on her podcast for suddenly crying during a news segment about how much he loves Miami. Dokoupil explained he was getting emotional due to his lost childhood in South Florida, which his family had to flee due to his father’s occupation as a drug dealer.

Kelly also characterized Dokoupil as someone who talks down to his audience.

To hammer down her point, she rolled a clip of Dokoupil’s remarks on “CBS Evening News” after an interview with President Donald Trump.

“You may not agree with everything you hear on this broadcast. But we trust you to listen, and we trust you to decide for yourself,” Dokoupil said.

“Oh my god, the patronization,” Kelly said after the clip ended.

“He’s giving Stuart Smalley vibes,” she said, referencing comedian Al Franken’s self-help ‘SNL’ character. “‘We’re good enough, we’re smart enough, and gosh darn it, people like us.’ I cannot get over how he continues to patronize the audience.”

The former Fox News anchor also has beef with CBS News’ new and controversial editor-in-chief, Bari Weiss, who handpicked Dokoupil for the prestigious role.

So, of course, the claws came out for Weiss as well.

“I’ve figured it out. Bari is an out lesbian, and she’s in a marriage to another woman, and they have kids, and so on,” Kelly said. “This is a lesbian’s idea of what women want. Like, ‘He’s sweet, he’s soft, this is what… this is going to sell.’”

Kelly then doubled down on her dislike for anyone who doesn’t strictly adhere to traditional gender norms.

“No, no, no! We want someone with balls, with a spine, someone who will protect us,” Kelly said. “Somebody who, like, when the burglar comes, will be the first out the door — they won’t be hiding behind us. Like, as we call it in my family, first defender.”

Kelly continued: “Whenever [my husband] Doug and I go on the road, whether it’s like a hotel or like a rental, he knows he has to be first defender and he’s perfectly fine in that role. Like, Tony ‘T’Oprah’ Dokoupil is not first defender.”

Although there are plenty of reasons to be wary of Dokoupil and Weiss being the faces of a legacy newsroom, Kelly’s reasoning based “on vibes” appears as flimsy as her ability to conjure nicknames.
