A Georgia man has been arrested after he allegedly threatened Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and her family.

Aliakbar Mohammad Amin, 24, was arrested and charged Friday with making interstate threats against Gabbard, who was nominated to her position by President Donald Trump earlier this year.

“You and your family are going to die soon,” Amin allegedly texted about Gabbard and her family, according to the Justice Department. “I will personally do the job if necessary.”

“Death to America means death to America literally, Tulsi is living on borrowed time,” Amin allegedly said in another text.

The messages, sent between March 29 and April 1, included threats to target Gabbard’s home. Authorities did not say to whom the texts were sent.

“Prepare to die, you, Tulsi, and everyone you hold dear,” Amin allegedly texted. “America will burn.”

The Justice Department said Amin also had social media posts that depicted a firearm being pointed at Gabbard and her husband. Federal agents found a gun at Amin’s residence, according to the DOJ statement.

Gabbard thanked authorities in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

“Thank you @FBI, @USMarshalsHQ, and local law enforcement for your service and dedication in apprehending this radicalized, dangerous criminal who repeatedly threatened the lives of me, my family, and @realDonaldTrump,” Gabbard wrote. “Thank you for your tireless work every day keeping the American people safe.”

The information released by authorities makes no reference to threats against Trump.
