I Have A Large Bust And These Are My Favorite Sports Bras

Finding the right sports bra that fits true to size, supports my chest, and is adjustable is not easy — especially as a woman who wears a D-cup bra size. Most workout bras feel too loose, dig into my skin, or just don’t offer the right lift and support I need.

After spending years looking for the best sports bras for bigger chests, I finally found a few I swear by. These workout bras have gotten me through Zumba, HIIT, and cycle classes — and the best part? They look great on and are also functional for all-day wear.

Check out the best workout bras for people with bigger chests below, all tried and tested by me. Shop brands like Lululemon, Sweaty Betty, and more, in a wide variety of colors, sizes, and styles.

A high impact bra with the most comfortbale fit

Available in a whopping nine shades (all of which are on sale right now), ThirdLove’s adjustable sports bra wins when it comes to inclusive sizing. It’s one of the only brands out there that offers odd sizes — such as 32 C½ — which makes it a great option if you’re between cup sizes.

I used to use ThirdLove workout bras when I had that issue (my cup size has changed in the last two years) and liked that I could find a bra that fit right, when most other stores didn’t have options for me. The straps here are adjustable too, and the hook-and-eye closures offer a more customizable fit.

You can wear the straps straight or turn them into a racerback style for added support. The built-in cups add a more flattering fit. ThirdLove describes this as a high-impact bra, and I found this to be true. I felt incredibly comfortable wearing this sports bra to my high-intensity workouts, while I was sweating bullets. This particular pick also has rave reviews from shoppers — with over 4,000 ratings online.

The perfec yoga and Pilates companion

This was another impulse buy that quickly became one of my favorite workout bras. Gap’s sales are always a great time to shop, and right now this option is just $23. Sizes range from XXS to XXL, and there are five color options currently available — act fast though, as some on-sale sizes are already selling out.

Gap’s sports bras run pretty true to size in my opinion, so I opted for a medium with this purchase. The material was soft and stretchy and a decent fit for most low- to medium-impact workouts. Since it’s not as adjustable as some of the other picks on this list, I refrain from using it for dance cardio or other high-impact workouts where I’m bouncing around more.

I usually wear this Gap workout bra in my yoga classes, and I like that it doesn’t dig into my skin and feels comfy for all-day wear. The material itself is super lightweight – it’s made from a 47% recycled polyester blend, according to the brand.

    A supportive, stretchy sports bra

I chanced upon this medium-support Sweaty Betty bra at Nordstrom and bought it in an orange creamsicle–type shade. I love how stretchy the bra is, but it’s definitely on the tighter side, so remember to size up. I normally buy an M, but I chose to buy an L for this option.

Fit and support-wise, I could wear this to my daily cycling class with no issues and felt adequately supported through the 45 minutes. The only downside is that the material is a little thin, so sweat stains (especially below your chest) are immediately visible. That said, the thin material also means you won’t overheat or find this bra uncomfortable. Sometimes I’ll wear it with sweatpants for a grocery run, or under a shirt when I’m not feeling like my usual padded bras.

Sizes run from XXS to 3XL, giving users a variety of options to buy — plus there are a multitude of colors available, including both bright and muted tones. Unfortunately, I can’t spot the orange creamsicle color on the site anymore, but you won’t be disappointed with the options available.

A high impact, slolid colored option

I’ve worn Lululemon leggings and sports bras for years, and I love how durable they are. I bought my first pair of leggings in 2020 and still wear them weekly. The activewear brand really shines with its buttery soft materials.

The Lululemon Energy bra offers high support and is designed for busts ranging from cup sizes B to G. Band width starts at 32 and runs up to 40. The fabric is soft and comfy, and Lululemon describes it as sweat-wicking. I’ve never felt uncomfortable or overly sweaty in this pick, and usually wear it to HIIT classes or high-intensity dance cardio classes.

There are foam cups included, which I don’t mind, as they stay in place while I move about. The straps are completely adjustable, too, and the hook-and-eye closure means you can adjust the underband to suit your comfort level.

A seamless training bra that’s buttery soft

Halara’s UltraSculpt medium support bra is a great option if you want the most customizable fit — not only are two cup options available (A to C or D to F), but you can also choose sizes between XS to XL. There are five colors available, too, but the olive green Kashmir color (left) has to be my favorite.

Halara makes seamless, buttery soft materials that stay put on your frame and feel great on. The nylon-polyester fabric is both sweat-wicking and breathable, and even offers compression for a slimmer fit.

The straps are adjustable, and while Halara describes this as a medium-support bra, I had no problem running or doing HIIT workouts in it — I think this is because it has a built-in bra inside. It’s super stretchy too, which makes it a dream to wear for long hours.

A no-frills supportive option for chests of all sizes

Shapermint makes everyday essentials, and I own a ton of beautiful seamless shapewear from the brand. What I didn’t know is that they also make a few sports bras.

True to Shapermint’s all-inclusive mission, the Truekind seamless racerback is available in several sizes ranging from S to 2XL. If you look under the size chosen, it also automatically tells you what bra sizes it’s suited for. I recommend sizing up for a comfier fit, though.

The bra itself is available in five muted shades and has a no-frills racerback design. This is another option that doesn’t feature adjustable straps, but even then, I had no problem with the fit. It’s comfortable, doesn’t dig into my skin, and looks flattering on — despite its simple design.

I usually wear it during my cycling classes or dance lessons, and I’ve found it supportive even when I need to stretch my body into various poses.

A bra so cute you never want to take it off

I never thought sports bras could be cute and flattering until I came across Bombshell Sportswear. Available in sizes from XS to XL, this comfy sports bra always has my fellow workout classmates asking where I shop.

It’s great for light-to medium-intensity workouts — though I usually wear it when I’m lifting weights at the gym. The straps are completely adjustable, and I found this bra to be super supportive during my workouts. I also like that it flatters my chest, instead of holding it down like most other sports bras do. The little ruched detailing on the front is both cute and unique, and I’ve worn this sports bra as a crop top on multiple occasions with a pair of jeans.

There’s padding too, though it’s removable if you want a lighter fit.
