Right-wing podcaster Tim Pool stormed off the set of a Jubilee debate after a progressive accused him of grifting. (Watch below.)
Pool recently appeared in a “Surrounded” debate titled “Tim Pool vs 20 Progressives” when one progressive commentator — @OneHandPolitics, a.k.a. Mason — challenged his claim that the U.S. is tracking toward a “civil war.”
Pool argued that his videos discussing a “civil war” highlight those who say the U.S. is in a “cold civil war or some kind of cultural civil war” before claiming that he doesn’t have a “strong prediction” on it.
That’s when Mason jumped in, “First of all, you do have a strong prediction. You’ve been saying this since 2019 … There’s 42 of your titles that have the word ‘civil war’ in it. Like big fonts on the front.”
“So why is that? It’s sensationalist. It’s easy to get clicks on that. There’s a reason why you say it because it’s very profitable for your business,” he said.
Pool — who has shared videos with titles like “CIVIL WAR IS COMING,” “CIVIL WAR 2.0 IS UPON US” and “Are You Ready For The Second American Civil War?” — hit back, stressing that he has some 1,600 episodes of his “Timcast IRL” podcast.
“I’m saying that you say bullshit in order to get money,” he said, sparking applause from the group of progressives around him.
Mason went on to liken Pool to Christians who predict that the rapture is coming “every fucking year.”
Pool, meanwhile, tried to get in a question as Mason continued talking.
“You want a soapbox? You want me to get you a soapbox?” he asked.
“I can leave. You want me to leave?” he continued before abruptly getting up from his chair and walking off the set.
This prompted Mason to put on a prop beanie to troll the podcaster’s frequent choice of headwear before turning toward the camera to imitate him, “‘The civil war is happening next year. It’s coming. Make sure you subscribe to Timcast’… It’s easy to do what you do, bro.”
Pool would return to the set moments later when Mason left the debate table.
