“Croatia: Use as much natural spring water as possible, both for drinking and washing your face. We have lots of springs that we can come to with canisters and take as much as we want, so many people are taking advantage of that. Additionally, using natural products for skin and hair care, like masks and scrubs. Real honey and real fruit for the face — for instance, when it’s peach season, take a peach and smudge it all over your face. Make sure it’s organic! And olive oil makes for a great hair mask. Also, using all sorts of oils in skincare is common here and very effective. We mix our own blends with rosemary, immortelle, olives, lavender, and homegrown herbs that our ancestors have been using for ages.”
“100%. People often shy away from skin oils, thinking they’ll break them out, but face oils help keep oils moving through the skin, so, according to my cosmetic dermatologist and my esthetician, those who use face oils regularly don’t have issues with blackheads or sebaceous filaments. I use argan and/or rosehip oil, and my skin LOVES it. I have zero issues with blackheads (I don’t get/have them), textured skin, large pores, etc.”
