While ski season awaits, Tahoe’s premier resorts are far from dormant. Summer and fall months reveal the region’s “secret season” of hidden charms, where snowy peaks transform into cascading waterfalls, vibrant wildflowers adorn the landscape, and warm days blend into cool nights. Activities abound, from scenic hikes and exhilarating bike rides to leisurely rounds of golf. Nestled within this picturesque setting is Everline Resort & Spa at Palisades Tahoe, site of the 1960 Winter Olympics, and renowned as the third largest ski resort in North America. Naturally, this particular region is more than active in winter. But warmer weather brings out a different side of Everline, a side that offers a welcoming blend of natural beauty, adventure, and luxurious escape. Here are ten reasons to add the Olympic Valley resort to your wander list:

    1. Everline’s expansive Oasis pool, comfortably heated year-round, is the resort’s focal point during secret season. Ample chaises lounge line a pool deck that is surrounded by shimmering aspens. Three whirlpools, a children’s pool, and a 90-foot waterslide are all complemented by poolside beverage service and surround-sound music.

    2. A central activity lawn welcomes all ages from dawn to dusk with games like cornhole, giant Jenga, ping pong and chess. The lawn is especially welcoming in the late evening, as overhead lighting and nearby twinkle-lit evergreens illuminate the space.

    3. Golf enthusiasts can challenge themselves at The Links at Everline, a championship course set at 6,200 feet elevation with stunning views of Palisades Tahoe. the par-71 championship course spans 6,931 yards and offers four different tee zones for all abilities.

4: Fishing enthusiasts can enjoy the Fly Fishing Center, offering guided experiences in partnership with Matt Heron from Truckee River Fly Fishing Guide | Matt Heron Fly Fishing at private stocked ponds along the Truckee River. Heron offers a three-hour Cast N’ Catch fishing class on the resort’s private stocked ponds off the Truckee River.

5: Those in search of relaxation will find it at the serene Spa at Everline, which beckons with indulgent treatments like the Everline Wellness Massage and Hydrating Restorative Facial. Enjoy the dry sauna, steam room, and tranquil relaxation sanctuary pre or post treatment.

6: Fitness enthusiasts can maintain their routine at the 24-hour fitness center that features an extensive array of cardio and weight-training equipment, including two peloton® bikes and a tempo machine.

7: Pedal along the Truckee river or explore Olympic Valley by bike. Everline offers E-Bike Rentals, Hybrid Bike Rentals, and Mountain Bike Rentals.

8: Shopping aficionados need not leave the property to find an array of fashion and outdoor gear, toys, games, and unique souvenirs all within Everline’s shopping promenade.

9: Gourmands will find much to love at Everline’s on-site restaurants: Six Peaks Grille is a fine-dining steakhouse overlooking the beautiful Olympic Valley (open Wednesday – Sunday). Sandy’s Pub is the perfect spot for family friendly, casual dining: think burgers, ribs, milkshakes and crafted cocktails, served al fresco on the patio or inside where a communal bar and tables are poised towards televised sports. Cascades Restaurant serves a bountiful breakfast buffet daily, and Bearshine Café is a cozy coffeehouse with baked goods, smoothies, and ice cream. Additional dining options are available at nearby Olympic Village to which guests can walk via the shaded forest trail, or take the complimentary Everline shuttle, which makes frequent drop-offs and pick-ups.

Sandy’s Pub offers casual interior and al fresco patio dining

10: And finally, no visit to Tahoe is complete without a visit to the lake, easily accessible via Everline’s complimentary shuttle service to Tahoe City, where guests can enjoy a day by the iconic blue waters before returning to the comfort of Palisades Tahoe.
