Top tips for running success
1. Keep it simple
“Simple habits create sustainable habits. Getting out of bed a little earlier than usual to get some steps in before work is just one way to encourage lasting change.”
2. Ask for help
“Don’t try and figure out everything on your own. Speak to a trainer for advice on getting started and adjusting your running style. Understand your body from a physiological stance, too, by engaging with a physiotherapist to actively protect your muscles and joints.”
3. Find your people
“Join a run club or community group that’s right for you. This is the best way to ease into running with the right support – and make a few friends along the way.”
4. It’s your journey
“Be patient with your progress and don’t be too hard on yourself – running should be fun. Remember: we are all runners at heart, and it’s up to us to discover it.”
