The Westin Mumbai Garden City has announced the appointment of Ravindra Suvarna as the new Assistant Director of Finance.
With over 17 years of extensive experience in financial management within the hospitality industry, Ravindra brings a wealth of expertise in financial operations, strategic planning, and leadership to his new role.
Ravindra Suvarna’s career is marked by a steady rise in responsibility, having worked across several key positions within the Hyatt group. His journey from Assistant Manager to his most recent role as Finance Manager at Hyatt Regency Thrissur reflects his dedication to excellence in financial operations.
In his previous roles, Ravindra demonstrated outstanding leadership in overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. His work in financial analysis has been instrumental in identifying trends and opportunities for growth, while his expertise in internal controls and tax compliance has ensured that the financial operations under his supervision remain compliant and efficient.
His tenure at Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty and Grand Hyatt Mumbai further cemented his reputation as a capable financial leader. As Chief Accountant and Credit Manager, he was responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, implementing credit policies, and conducting financial audits to ensure transparency and accuracy in financial reporting. These roles equipped him with a deep understanding of cash flow management, vendor relations, and credit risk assessments, essential skills that he will bring to his new role.
Ravindra holds an Executive MBA (Finance) from NIBM Global and a B.Com degree in Finance & Taxation from Mumbai University. His educational foundation, combined with his practical experience, provides him with a comprehensive understanding of finance in the hospitality sector.
Ravindra is proficient in key financial and operational tools such as iScala, Alif, Opera, and Micros, along with budgeting tools like Hyperion and Smart View. He is also highly skilled in MS Office applications, which enhances his ability to manage complex financial data efficiently.
As the newly appointed Assistant Director of Finance at the Westin, Ravindra Suvarna is poised to bring his forward-thinking approach to financial management. His strategic vision includes optimizing financial systems, improving cost control measures, and ensuring that the financial operations align with the broader goals of the organization.
