White House deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino popped an artificial intelligence champagne bottle over the weekend, and social media users weren’t having it with the flex.
Scavino shared an AI-generated clip that depicts him dressed in a suit as he joyously sprays bubbly in the air while riding in a luggage cart alongside his wife, Erin Scavino, the U.S. State Department’s director of Art in Embassies.
The president’s son, Eric Trump, is seen pushing the cart from behind them alongside his wife, Fox News host Lara Trump.
The roughly six-second clip, backed by Pitbull’s “Don’t Stop the Party,” concludes with President Donald Trump greeting the group with open arms.
Scavino captioned the clip by teasing that he “felt inclined” to share his experience at the White House state dinner that the president held for Chinese leader Xi Jinping on Thursday.
The post arrives after Eric and Laura Trump’s state dinner glam shot sparked similar backlash with critics who likened the snap to a “let them eat cake” moment considering the president’s history of dismissing high prices.
Carrie Prejean Boller, a conservative activist who was booted from her role on the White House’s Religious Liberty Commission earlier this year, ripped Scavino over the clip.
“You really have no shame, do you?” she began in a post to X.
“Many Americans can’t afford groceries, gas or their mortgage payment, and you post a tone deaf AI video of you and your buddies partying at the People’s House. MAGA is dead.”
Meghan McCain — daughter of late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) — also chimed in, writing, “One of my friends couldn’t afford air conditioner this summer.”
Jonah Goldberg, co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Dispatch, jokingly declared, “This is precisely the midterm messaging the GOP needs from the Deputy White House Chief of Staff.”
Another X user described the clip as “revolting,” adding, “We’ve got farmers breaking down in tears over the price of diesel fuel, wondering how their farms are going to survive and this is what the director of the Presidential Personnel Office and deputy chief of staff is posting.”
The post concluded, “But please, tell me more about how I gotta vote so the Dems don’t ruin our country.”
