Exclusive Interview: Devin Cecchetto on Evelyn Goodwin, Music, and the Future

Over four seasons on the Hallmark Channel, The Way Home has made a lasting impact on both family-drama television and the science-fiction genre. Throughout the series, characters have traveled across different decades while experiencing significant personal growth and transformation.

Actress Devin Cecchetto, who portrays Evelyn Goodwin, recently sat down with me on behalf of Social Lifestyle Magazine to discuss what viewers can expect from Season 4. Although the season has recently wrapped, those streaming the series on Hallmark+ still have plenty to look forward to when it comes to Evelyn’s journey. Here’s my exclusive interview with Devin Cecchetto:

Devin said, “This season is definitely an emotional one, especially knowing it’s the final chapter. I think the writers have done a beautiful job of bringing a sense of closure to every character’s journey.”

She continued, “For Evelyn, there’s a real moment of depth, authenticity, and self-actualization. I can’t share too much without giving anything away, but by the end of the season, we begin to understand how her younger and older selves connect in a way that’s both beautiful and, in some ways, a little tragic.”

Reflecting on her experience working with the Hallmark Channel, Devin shared:

“Working with the Hallmark Channel has been such an amazing experience, and honestly, the fans are the best part. I’m really open to all opportunities moving forward. I’ve been getting to audition for a range of really interesting characters—some that feel very close to Evelyn in spirit and others that are completely different, which has been so exciting. I’m really looking forward to leaning into that versatility and exploring all the different directions my work can go next.”

In addition to acting, Devin Cecchetto is an accomplished singer-songwriter who hails from the Greater Toronto Area in Canada. When asked about upcoming projects, she responded:

“There’s always a lot in the works, which is really exciting. I’ve had some great auditions recently and a couple of callbacks, so I’m looking forward to seeing what comes out of that over the next little while.”

Devin has also built a following through her catchy pop music. Among her releases is the song “Super Sonic Girl,” as well as the holiday-themed video, “A Christmas Special You Didn’t Know You Needed.” The video also features her The Way Home co-stars Sadie Laflamme-Snow, who plays Alice, and Kelsey Falconer, who portrays young Tessa.

Devin commented, “On the music side, I’m currently deciding how I want to release new material. I’ve been working toward an EP, but I also tend to get a bit restless and love putting music out one single at a time. So we’ll see—an EP might take a few more months, but there’s definitely a chance I’ll be dropping a new single within the next month.”

It has been a true pleasure and honor to interview Ms. Devin Cecchetto during the 2026 television season. I also had the opportunity to speak with her in 2025, and it has been exciting to watch her continue to grow as both an actress and musician.

If you have not yet watched The Way Home, I highly recommend checking out the series. Its unique blend of family drama, mystery, and time travel has made it a favorite among viewers, and Season 4 promises to be an emotional and memorable chapter.

On behalf of Social Lifestyle Magazine, I would like to thank Devin for taking the time to share her thoughts and insights with our readers. We look forward to following her journey and seeing what exciting opportunities lie ahead. Whether on screen or in the music world, there is no doubt that Devin Cecchetto has a bright future ahead of her.
