Pablo Manriquez of MeidasTouch briefed the lawmaker on Trump essentially planning a “made-for-TV broadcast about election fraud and conspiracy theories.”
To which AOC replied, “I don’t think that we should be contributing to any platforming of lies about our elections. Many news outlets oftentimes may receive transcripts, and I think that we have an ethical obligation to not air things that undermine our elections that are not rooted in evidence and fact. And so, of course, it depends on the contents of his speech. But that’s my take.”
“MS NOW is now reporting that Trump will deliver an address Thursday evening where he plans to unveil another round of lies about why he lost in 2020 to Joe Biden,” she said. “This time, claiming that newly declassified reports reveal foreign interference in that election that his own government didn’t know about at the time, lies that seemed to conveniently obscure that he was the president of the United States. … Donald Trump makes it abundantly clear that there is no lever of national security power that he will not exploit and pervert to undermine our faith in our elections and our democracy.”
Another report surfaced that the president will soon declare the elections of Democratic Georgia Sens. Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock illegitimate through a debunked conspiracy theory.
