I don’t know about you, but sometimes I fall down the most random rabbit holes. Picture me endlessly scrolling Wikipedia, learning things I’ll probably forget in an hour. And for what? Trivia night at the bar? Who knows. This time, it was state slogans and nicknames (with a sprinkle of Canadian provinces — I’m Canadian, after all). I kept hearing things like “The Sunshine State” on TV or spotting license plates with catchy slogans, but could I actually place them? Doubt it. Even with a map, I still would be more or less useless. So voilà — this quiz was born.
So let’s put your geography skills to the test — North American edition. Here’s how it works: I’ll give you the nickname, and you guess the state or province. Think you’ve got this? Let’s find out…
How’d you do? Tell me in the comments — and tell me what you would nickname your home state or province if it were up to you. I’m in Toronto, Ontario, and mine would be: “You need two days to road trip across it.” Trust me, I’ve done it. Not for the faint of heart.
