Charlamagne tha God is blasting the “liberal media” for taking it easy on former President Bill Clinton over his supposed ties to the late disgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
During Tuesday’s episode of “The Breakfast Club” radio show, Charlamagne claimed that the left has been laser focused on President Donald Trump’s connection to Epstein while disregarding former Clinton’s relationship with him.
The discussion came up after a letter Trump reportedly wrote to Epstein in 2003 for his 50th birthday was mentioned by co-host Morgyn Wood. The Wall Street Journal was the first to report on the alleged letter, which the outlet says contained a raunchy sketch of a naked woman with Trump’s signature and an eyebrow-raising message about secrets.
Trump has denied writing the letter and filed a $10 billion defamation lawsuit against the WSJ over the report. He called the WSJ’s article a “false, malicious, and defamatory story.”
Charlamagne proclaimed during the episode that Clinton’s ties to Epstein should be discussed more, but “nobody’s talking about that.”
“It’s just funny how the news works,” he said. “Because Bill Clinton wrote a letter to Jeffrey Epstein as well for his birthday — but nobody’s talking about that. And Jeffrey Epstein had a picture of Bill Clinton in a dress, in high heels in his New York mansion, but nobody’s talking about that.”
The Wall Street Journal reported last week that Clinton had written a letter to Epstein for his birthday in 2003.
The radio personality was referring to a portrait of the ex-president dressed in a blue dress and heels that was reportedly discovered in Epstein’s Upper East Side mansion.
The artwork created by artist Petrina Ryan-Kleid was auctioned off at the annual Tribeca Ball at the New York Academy of Art in 2012, according to Vanity Fair. But it’s unclear if that’s when Epstein got possession of it.
Voters, including Trump’s MAGA base, have been critical of the world leader and his administration’s handling of the Epstein files.
The criticism kicked off after the Trump administration announced in a two-page memo earlier this month that it would not release any additional files on Jeffrey Epstein, sparking outrage among many Trump supporters.
In the memo released by the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the agencies claimed that there was no evidence that Epstein had a “client list” or that he blackmailed prominent figures.
The memo also stated that Epstein was not murdered in his New York jail cell six years ago but died by suicide, which the agencies say aligns with previous department conclusions.
Meanwhile, Trump has slammed speculation over the client list, which he deemed a “hoax,” and has repeatedly fumed over reporters, and even his own supporters, asking questions about the Epstein files.
Elsewhere in the episode, Charlamagne declared that “whoever is on that list needs to go.”
“My thing is this, I don’t care who is on the list. Everybody gotta go. Burn it all down,” he continued. “That’s as simple as that. Mutually assured destruction. Whoever is on that list needs to go. Nobody needs to be protecting pedophiles. I don’t care what party they are.”
After co-host Wood argued that Clinton would be under “scrutiny” over his ties with Epstein if he were currently serving as president, Charlamagne took another shot at the media.
“No, he wouldn’t because liberal media wouldn’t push the issue,” he responded.
In a 2019 statement, Clinton acknowledged that he took several trips with Epstein, but said he “knows nothing about the terrible crimes” committed by the financier.
Charlamagne has previously voiced critiques about the media being “quiet” about Clinton’s dealings with Epstein.
“Are liberal news media outlets reporting on this?” he asked the audience during a December 2021 segment of his Comedy Central show “Tha God’s Honest Truth.” “I don’t know. I’ve been out of the country. They’re not, right?”
“It feels kinda quiet on this. And that’s why I’m calling bullshit,” he continued. “Because if Trump was the only one in that alleged minor-loving mile-high club, I’m willing to bet the millions Trump doesn’t pay in taxes that the media would be all over this like Epstein on a — you know what? Never mind. Forget I said that.”
