“Face the Nation” moderator Margaret Brennan said her Democratic sources told her it would be “political suicide” to oppose Kamala Harris as the party’s presidential nominee in the wake of President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the race. (Watch the video below.)
The vice president was endorsed by Biden after he announced he was calling off his re-election bid on Sunday, and she quickly gained traction within the party as the prime possibility to defeat Donald Trump.
The CBS News host spoke of Harris’ potential nomination almost as if it were already the party’s collective will ― at least according to her sources.
“Anyone, I was told, looking to challenge her would be committing political suicide,” Brennan said.
“So that’s what we’re looking at now,” she added.
