It may seem like there are a lot of technicalities to consider when you’re picking a new mobile plan, but there are actually only a few things you’ll really want to pay attention to. First, check how much data your family uses.

You can check monthly data usage on your current mobile bill, but if you want to see data usage per line, you can check right on your phone. Just go to your settings, where there should be a section labeled “Cellular,” “Internet” or something similar.
Less expensive plans tend to give you 1GB or 2GB per line, while others will give you unlimited data. Some of the previous points, such as data limits and hotspot capabilities, can impact your monthly cost, but there are some other factors to consider too.
